In designing an athletics logo, ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï athletes, staff members, and the student body sought a representation of an owl that would convey pride, respect, competitiveness as well as confidence, but not arrogance.

With the creation of the ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï Athletics logo and its variations, the athletic department ceased using the College Seal on all athletic publications including game programs, media guides, and the website.
