Travel Program Frequently Asked Questions

See below for information on the ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï travel program.

No! Beyond ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï alumnae/i, we welcome all parents, spouses, family members, and friends of the ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï community. We hope you’ll join us! â€¯

½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï works in close collaboration with a variety of tour operators that specialize in academic and affinity group travel. Most of our tour operators are our long-standing partners who also work with the fellow seven sisters and our peer institutions. Many months of planning and consideration go into creating our annual program, which covers a variety of regional and cultural interests. Once we decide on our destinations, our expert tour operators are responsible for all aspects of the itinerary, travel arrangements, payment transactions, and more.

We offer both exclusive and co-sponsored programs throughout the year. On our exclusive departures, meaning the trip is only offered to ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï, our group size typically ranges between 12-24 travelers. On our co-sponsored departures, which are often river- or ocean-based departures, we can travel with upwards of 200 travelers. On these co-sponsored departures, we work to ensure camaraderie and connection between our ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï travelers through group dinners, private gatherings, or lectures.

Reservations, deposits, and all subsequent payments are made directly through the tour operators. Reservation forms and deposit instructions are found in each trip brochure. Additionally, most tour operators will take your reservation by phone. Details about each trip can be found here.

Once a minimum number of travelers are registered, we will engage a faculty, staff, or guest host to accompany the trip.

Most tour operators have a strict cancellation policy. We ask that you pay careful attention to the terms and conditions outlined on the trip brochure before submitting your reservation and deposit since these are the purview of the tour operator rather than the College. Penalties for canceling often increase as the departure date approaches, and you can lose 100% of your prepaid trip costs should you cancel closer to the departure date.  For this reason, we share information about trip cancellation insurance with our travelers as they sign on to a trip.
