Research and Scholarly Interests
Marie’s research interests focus on school social workers engagement with ethical decision making, making do, social emotional learning, and adolescent identity development. She hopes to contribute to the growing body of knowledge on promoting positive school climates, adolescent life trajectories, school social workers role in the educational environment, and contributions to educational policy.
Biography
Marie is a licensed social worker in Virginia, Maryland, Washington D., and Pennsylvania. She holds a BA from Virginia State University, with magna cum laude honors, and MSW from Columbia University’s School of Social Work. She is currently in her second year of doctoral studies at Bryn Mawr College’s Graduate School of Social Work and Social Research. Marie has been a dedicated social worker with roles school social work and special education. Her most recent work at ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï serving as a graduate teaching assistant and policy committee member, will ground her research with enhancing the student experience while attending educational institutions.
