While in the Bahamas, Moss was able to participate as a researcher, evaluator, educator, and trainer on issues of trauma-informed care and healing in relation to domestic and intimate partner violence, women’s empowerment, as well as post-disaster child and community welfare. The work was mainly focused on the island of Nassau (New Providence) and the Abaco islands.

During her residency, Moss worked with several organizations, including the University of The Bahamas, the Bahamas Technical and Vocational Institute, Bahamas Sexual Health and Rights Association, Project Hope, and the Rotary International. She also worked with ministry-level departments of health, social services and urban renewal, gender and family affairs, and district-level departments of education, law enforcement, legislators, and volunteers.

She sees opportunities for remote and in-person international service learning in the Bahamas, the development of a potential collaborative course focused on student health and wellness, and student-faculty partnerships in community-based collaborative research and publication development.
