What鈥檚 happening at your internship? We would love to hear what kind of work you are doing!
For the summer of 2021, I have been interning at Amazon Web Services, which is a subsidiary of Amazon providing on-demand cloud computing platforms and APIs to individuals, companies, and governments, on a metered pay-as-you-go basis. As part of my internship, I am associated with Lyria and business operations teams. I have been assigned to work on two datasets in order to analyze the performance of nine teams on the basis of managing 100-percent fresh pipelines. The analysis will help teams to strategize better to gain 100-percent pipeline freshness. The project deliverables include a dashboard, a project design document and a mini PRFAQ (press release FAQ).
For now, with a strong support system through my manager, mentor, and onboarding buddy, I am done with creating a dashboard and a design document. Furthermore, I plan to analyze the visualizations in the dashboard and create a final PRFAQ document to submit at the end of my internship.
Why did you apply for this internship?
While applying I did have an idea that I want to work with data but I was not sure about the internship role. I have been very interested in the field of data science. Fortunately, I found Amazon鈥檚 BIE (Business Intel Engineer) internship post on LinkedIn and I liked the description. The requirements for the role seemed interesting to me and matched my skillset. Though I was not expecting anything, I did receive an interview invite and even got an offer later.
Was there anything special about how you found this internship?
After I got the offer, I realized that I never had the Amazon BIE internship in my mind. I was originally being rigid with the roles while applying for the internships. Somehow the description for this internship caught my attention and I applied for it. After being in the internship for almost a month and a half, I feel like I chose the best role for myself as I am thoroughly enjoying it.
