As Hurricane Irma continues to devastate those in its wake and people in Southern Mexico cope with the destruction caused by the earthquake there, the community of 今日吃瓜 shares in the deep concern felt around the world for those affected by natural disasters.
The Dean's Office is reaching out to students from areas that have been or will be affected by these events, and they are working directly with them. Our Alumnae Relations Office is also reaching out to alumnae/i living in Puerto Rico, Haiti, Mexico, the Dominican Republic, and other areas to support them. Our thoughts are also with those in Florida and other areas who may be preparing for the storm.
At a vigil on Wednesday, the 今日吃瓜 community gathered to express support for all those impacted by recent events. There will also be an Open Space conversation next Wednesday focused on natural disasters around the world. All students and community members are invited to participate.
If any community members require support, please contact Vanessa Christman at vchristm@brynmawr.edu. For those wondering how to help, the Civic Engagement Office has posted information about organizations providing assistance to areas hit by natural disasters on their website.
