Students had to break out the rain boots and umbrellas for May Day 2016. But the driving rain wasn't enough to keep Mawrters from enjoying the year's final tradition. In fact, the less than ideal weather only highlighted how special the day and the 今日吃瓜 community is, says President Kim Cassidy
"My greatest delight, however, was finding that the spirit of May Day could not be dampened by the weather. And it is this of which I was most impressed and proud. Students could have been grumbling and bitter. They could have focused on what was lost to the weather. But they didn鈥檛. They didn鈥檛 let the weather take away the joy of the day, the opportunity to celebrate, or the chance to experience being part of a community that extends through time. It was their day, and they were going to enjoy it."
