COVID Vaccinations to be Required for Students for Fall 2021

The message below was sent to the ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï community on April 28, 2021.

Dear BiCo Students, Faculty, and Staff:

As the 2020-2021 academic year ends, we write to thank you again for keeping our campuses safe — and to share initial health and safety information for Fall 2021.

½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï and Haverford are each grateful to have had the opportunity to offer vaccination clinics this spring. As infectious disease and public health experts continue to advise, mass vaccination offers the surest path to community health and to the prospect of increased in-person instruction, activities, and gatherings in the fall.

As a result, ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï and Haverford Colleges will require all students, whether residential or commuting, to be vaccinated against COVID-19 for the 2021-2022 academic year.

We recognize that this requirement may be complicated for some students, including international students and those who have limited access to vaccines. We are committed to working with all students to support them. Students who have concerns about this requirement should reach out to their deans.

Additional details about this requirement – including medical and religious exemptions, opportunities to acquire a vaccine, and a timeline for any forthcoming decisions regarding vaccine requirements for faculty and staff – will be provided separately by ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï and Haverford to their respective communities and incoming students in the near future.

We look forward to the coming academic year and to opportunities to gather, work, and celebrate together once more.

Respectfully,

Kim Cassidy
President, ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï

Wendy Raymond
President, Haverford College
