LILAC | Civic Engagement is partnering with the Greater Philadelphia MLK Day of Service event which is the largest MLK Day event in the nation. This year more than 50 students, faculty and staff will be volunteering at the Philadelphia Reads Book Bank in Philadelphia, PA. This is a wonderful resource for educators who serve Philadelphia's children and youth within daycare, preschool, public, private, charter, parochial, religious, and after-school classrooms. Through this Book Bank, educators are able to get up to 350 free books per school year, as well as supplemental classroom supplies. Volunteers will be involved in recording audio books, sorting/labeling books, cleaning the Book Bank and mural/board design.
