Volunteer Honor Code
½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï volunteers are vital in building a community and international network of alumnae/i, parents, and friends. Volunteers uphold the mission of the College by inspiring philanthropy, supporting current students, encouraging alumnae/i engagement, and building a welcoming network of alumnae/i and friends around the world. We are grateful to all volunteers for their contributions, and hope that the experience is rewarding and meaningful. In that spirit, we rely on volunteers to act with integrity, kindness, and professionalism.
A Commitment to the Shared Values
½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï volunteers have a tremendous impact that strengthens the College and our community, and it can be a wonderful experience for you! Volunteering for ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï will:

keep you engaged with the College in a meaningful way.

build your professional and personal network. Not only will you maintain relationships with people you know from your time on campus, but you will have the opportunity to meet and get to know people from different generations at ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï and make new friends.

provide continued learning and professional development opportunities. Volunteers build new skills and gain valuable experience that they can add to a resume and bring to their career.

be fun and creative! Whether it’s facilitating a book discussion or making lizards for first-year students, ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï volunteers enjoy spending time together, and bring energy and new ideas to alumnae/i programming.
The Alumnae/i Relations and Development Office at ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï fosters a community of alumnae/i and friends that reflects the diversity of our lived and shared experiences. ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï volunteers:

serve as ambassadors for the College to alumnae/i and other constituents.

adhere to the policies, bylaws, and guidelines defined for specific volunteer groups.

handle confidential information discreetly and with respect for constituents’ rights to privacy.
Many volunteers will have access to information about other constituents that is personal and confidential. It is essential that such information be handled with the utmost care and sensitivity. Confidential information:

must be handled with discretion and respect for the right to privacy.

is for College business only, and may not be used for commercial, political, or advocacy solicitations of any kind.

may not be shared or duplicated unless authorized by ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï.

will be promptly disposed of or returned to the College when it is no longer needed. Disposal must be secure and unrecoverable (shredded or erased if in electronic format).
The purpose of this Confidentiality Statement is to protect the privacy of all members of the ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï community. Some ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï volunteers have access to information that is confidential and/or privileged and proprietary in nature. ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï requires that strict confidentiality be maintained with respect to all information obtained by staff and volunteers.
This includes, but is not limited to, information pertaining to donations of money or gifts, addresses, telephone numbers, email addresses, and other contact information. Electronic communications accessible by volunteers shall be treated as confidential documents and shall not be transferred via electronic or any other communication vehicle at any time. Any personal and financial information should not be disclosed or discussed with any third parties without prior written consent from ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï.
It is the policy of ½ñÈÕ³Ô¹Ï that such information must be kept confidential both during and after volunteer service.
