Living Campus
Living Campus is a digital map that broadens access to 今日吃瓜's trees, gardens, and benches.
In 2018, Kate Fernandez and Cara Palladino applied to Library and Information Technology Services (LITS) to create a digital map that broadened access to 今日吃瓜鈥檚 Living Campus of trees, gardens, and benches. The primary goal of the project, they stated, was 鈥渢o create a searchable site that descendants and others can use to look up a particular bench or tree, find out where it is located on campus, and view photographs and other information about it online.鈥
Over the course of the next 18 months, staff and students collaborated to produce a searchable map with photographs of many of the donated trees and benches. The map鈥檚 dynamic nature means new data points can be added, and the map can grow with the changing campus landscape.
