Course and Research Study Abroad
Studying abroad as a 今日吃瓜 student doesn't only mean via traditional semester-long programs. Here are a few examples of independent study abroad opportunities:
- The interdisciplinary 360 program, which assembles course clusters around a broad issue, often with a funded overseas travel component, as in the 2016-17 Contemplative Traditions cluster visiting Japan and the Eurasia in Flux cluster taking the Trans-Siberian railway.
- Individual courses that have a travel component, as have in which students have traveled to Spain, Costa Rica, or the Bahamas.
- Serving as research assistants on faculty projects, as have many Archaeology students (undergraduate and graduate) who have worked at sites in Greece, Turkey, Italy, the U.A.E., and Egypt.
